1. Glasgow Youth Hostel

Of all the hostels in Glasgow, this has the highest rating — and if you want comfortable and clean, this is the hostel for you.

That said, it’s not the most sociable place on the planet, and the guests tend to be slightly-older people. It’s a retro hiker-style hostel, rather than one of the modern versions we’re all so used to now.

It’s a bit sanitized and a bit dated, but it’s friendly and welcoming. They have bike storage, and they allow dogs.

The best thing about this place is its location: it sits in Kelvinbridge (which, along with neighboring Finnieston, is the coolest district in the city)…

… so you won’t make many friends in the hostel, but you might make friends while you’re exploring the area. Expect independent venues, lots of coffee and avocados, and a load of young party-lovers.

The hostel is in a very beautiful location with amazing view, gives the vibes of rich and secluded neighborhood. The interior is a gorgeous Georgian building very well preserved. The staff is very helpful and always there. We stayed in a private double room and it was very clean, my only complaint would be the bed that is so narrow that I’m pretty sure that a larger person wouldn’t be able to fit. Anyway I would recommend the place!
